Subject: Soup of the day

Diced and peeled some onions, carrot and corn, 3 pork ribs (or chicken)




Heat some oil and fry the onions


Add the pork rib and fry quickly


Add 2 litres of water plus the carrot and corn.
Let it boil for 30 mins, the ingredients will sweeten the soup.


Add salt and soya sauce to season it.
let it boil for another 15 mins or till the pork ribs is tender


Ta Da !!! Dinner is ready ...



Serve with plain rice and a side dish of chilli padi in soya/fish sauce

How do you eat it? Getting the corn off of the cob in the soup looks awkward, and ditto getting the pork off the ribs. I like the recipie otherwise.

well, usually we bring the corn and/or the pork rib to the rice plate and eat off there. After boiling for 2 hours, the meat on the pork rib fall off the rib easily :-)

No problemo...my only criteria for community whoring is that it relates to food and/or budget so you are in the clear. ;-)

Your dish looks good. Curious though, how do you eat the corn...looks to be still partially on the cob part.

after boiling for 2 hours, the pork rib and corn will be soft. Place the corn or pork rib in the rice plate, and scrap off the corn/meat with fork. Children tends to grab the whole corn and eat it off.
